What is ‘FeNO’ Testing?
FeNO stands for Fraction exhaled Nitric Oxide. This test is a short test that measures inflammation present in the airways. Nitric oxide is produced in the airways as part of the inflammatory response to airway disease that may be present in the lungs. Therefore, if you have Asthma or are coming in for a long term cough, shortness of breath we routinely perform this test to deduce if there is inflammation in your airways as this will alter the path of your treatment,
